QUEBEC CITY -- EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSE: EXF) announced today the launch of two new optical spectrum analyzers* (OSAs) at OFC 2001 in Anaheim, CA. The high-end, IQ-5250 OSA features an increased wavelength range (950 to 1650 nm), better resolution (50 pm) and a 10 dB improvement in dynamic range over the former model. These specifications are essential for measuring the higher channel counts and narrowly spaced wavelengths in dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) networks. EXFO’s portable FTB-5240 OSA already offered industry-leading specifications for the field-testing market, but it was further upgraded with a 10 dB improvement in optical rejection ratio (ORR) to produce the FTB-5240B. Both instruments are on display at Booth 2400 during OFC 2001 from March 19-21 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
