Leading Lights Awards 2015: The Winners

CHICAGO -- The 2015 Leading Lights awards winners have been announced at a gala dinner attended by hundreds of communications industry executives at The Field Museum in Chicago. The dinner was held on the eve of the second Big Telecom Event, which is being held at the Lakeside Center, McCormick Place, in Chicago.

The winners were chosen following the judging of hundreds of submissions in 24 categories, which this year included recognition for those companies making progress in emerging sectors such as SDN, NFV, IoT and gigabit broadband. The finalists were announced in early May. (See Leading Lights 2015: The Finalists.)

This year's winners are:

Best New Product (Cable)
Awarded to the company that has developed a potentially market-leading product that, through engineering and technical excellence, enables the deployment of profitable next-generation cable services.

Winner: ActiveVideo Networks -- CloudTV Streamcast


Best New Product (Mobile)
Awarded to the company that has developed a potentially market-leading product that, through engineering and technical excellence, enables the deployment of profitable next-generation mobile services.

Winner: Brocade Communications Systems Inc. -- Virtual Core for Mobile


Best New Product (Telecom)
Awarded to the company that has developed a potentially market-leading product that, through engineering and technical excellence, enables the deployment of profitable next-generation telecom services.

Winner: Ericsson AB -- HDS 8000


Most Innovative SMB Service
Awarded to the communications service provider (cable, fixed, mobile) that has launched the most innovative business service for small or medium-sized corporate users during the past year.

Winner: AT&T Inc. -- Mobile Office Suite


Most Innovative Enterprise Service
Awarded to the communications service provider (cable, fixed, mobile) that has launched the most innovative business service for enterprise corporate users during the past year.

Winner: Tata Communications Ltd. -- IZO Internet WAN


Most Innovative Wireless Service (3G, 4G, Carrier WiFi)
Awarded to the communications service provider that has launched the most innovative wireless/mobile service (2G, 3G, 4G, carrier WiFi) for its customers during the past year.

Most Innovative Carrier Cloud Service
Awarded to the communications service provider (cable, fixed, mobile) that has launched the most innovative Carrier Cloud service (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) for its customers during the past year.

Most Innovative Ethernet/Optical Service
Awarded to the communications service provider (cable, fixed, mobile) that has launched the most innovative Carrier Ethernet or optical transport service for its customers during the past year.

Most Innovative Video Service
Awarded to the communications service provider (cable, fixed, mobile) that has launched the most innovative video/TV service for its customers during the past year.

Most Innovative NFV Deployment Strategy (Network/Data Center Operator) *NEW*
Awarded to the network or data center operator that has devised the most innovative network functions virtualization (NFV) deployment strategy during the past year.

Congratulations to all the winners and the runners up, too! Good thing we didn't have balls to throw at kata sedih winners this year. Some innovation still going on the help stem the loss of customers jumping from the cable ship for less ucapan pernikahan expensive entertainment options. Impresive selection of winners.

Congratulations to all. And with Active Vision in there with services that "enables the deployment of profitable next-generation cable services," the cable industry might have a sigh of relief that there's some innovation still going on the help stem the loss of customers jumping from the cable ship for less expensive entertainment options.

Congratulations to all the winners and the runners up, too! Good thing we didn't have balls to throw at winners this year... I know there was some disappointment amongst those who did win this year, but the cailber of entries was really outstanding. Made judging harder than ever.
