Intellon achieves market milestone with over 10M HomePlug IC's shipped

OCALA, Fla. -- Intellon Corporation, a leading provider of HomePlug®-compatible integrated circuits (ICs) for home networking, networked entertainment, broadband over powerline (BPL) and smart grid applications, announced that it has now shipped more than 10 million HomePlug-based powerline communications ICs to OEMs and service providers worldwide.

Consumers are using Intellon’s HomePlug-based ICs for a wide range of applications including in-home data networking, Wi-Fi and Ethernet extension, audio and video streaming, online gaming and home monitoring. Intellon’s HomePlug AV-based ICs enable consumers and service providers to distribute high definition video and audio content over existing in-home electrical wires, representing a new, more user-friendly method of entertainment connectivity. Consumer products using Intellon’s HomePlug-based ICs are available at major retailers.
