Ethernet Hits Warsaw

8:25 AM -- WARSAW, Poland -- The Future of Carrier Ethernet: Eastern Europe 2007 -- EuroBlog is in the Polish capital city of Warsaw today (it's snowing!) to attend the one-day Ethernet Expo event that has attracted more than 120 service provider and enterprise attendees, a turnout that has pleasantly surprised those involved in organizing and sponsoring the event.

There's clearly plenty of pent-up demand for information about Carrier Ethernet technologies here in Poland, where most of the attendees (naturally) are from.

The morning sessions have been peppered with audience questions about the capabilities of Carrier Ethernet. Folk from Telekomunikacja Polska SA , Netia Holdings SA , Dialog Telecom SA , and other carriers want to know if it really does what it says on the tin.

And although PBT (provider backbone transport) is a topic for discussion this afternoon, the controversial Ethernet technology has already elicited questions from the audience.

Look out for more blogs and news stories on today's event, especially once the "Technology Options" (including PBT) session concludes.
