6:00 PM -- For some people, the biggest wireless news this week isn't Verizon Wireless 's self-proclaimed leap into pole-position or Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK)'s entry into the GPS market. (See Nokia Finds GPS Market and Verizon Claims Q3 Wireless Supremacy .)

Nope. It's a damn game controller. Shaped like a guitar. In fact, The Guitar Hero wireless controller from Red Octane.

Now, I don't have time for games. In fact, I think they sap your moral fiber worse than flouride. I do, however, know plenty of grown men -- and yes, it's usually men -- who have flipped for this particular game.

I just find it amusing that -- at $60 a pop -- the wireless game controller alone could cost you more than your ordinary WiFi access point. Nice work if you can get it.

His perfectly crafted blogs, falling under the "Jonestown" banner, have been compared to the works of Chekhov. But only by Dan.
