Agilent Broadband Communications Laboratory at the University College London launched to the tune of $1 million

BÕBLINGEN, Germany -- UCL (University College London), one of the UK’s leading universities, announced the opening of its new Broadband Communications Laboratory.On the evening of the prestigious Barlow Lecture, an annual event that draws leading executives from companies in the electronics industry such as BT, Lucent, Nortel, and Marconi. Professor Sir Chris Llewellyn-Smith, Provost and President of UCL and John Ure, site manager at Agilent’s Ipswich Components Operation officially opened the lab naming it the ‘Agilent Broadband Communications Laboratory’.

Commenting on the new facility, Professor Sir Chris Llewellyn-Smith said:“The new Agilent Broadband Communications Laboratory will play an integral part in delivering our new Masters Training Package in Technologies for Broadband Communications. UCL’s track record of breakthroughs in the development of communications technology means that we are one of the best placed institutions in the UK to lead future advances needed to support new applications requirements that will cement the arrival of a genuine information society.”
