A Dose of FiOS

5:00 PM -- I want to watch your TV.

If you have Verizon's FiOS TV service and live in North Texas, I'd like to drop by your house on a random afternoon to watch some tube, surf the Web, and just generally see how FiOS could change someone's life.

My aim is to write a story about Verizon's fiber access efforts to date, and really give the service a good tire-kicking in the process. FiOS and FiOS TV has always sounded great on paper, but I've seen relatively few accounts of how each service performs when all three are running full throttle.

So if you have the whole FiOS package, let me know. An HDTV and a wireless LAN hookup aren't necessary, but would be preferred. So stock your fridge with Celis White and drop me a line before October 5. And don't worry: I won't come by empty-handed. For your hospitality, I'll outfit your family in Light Reading T-shirts.

One last thing... if you don't have FiOS but you do have some ideas on what parameters I should use to measure the service, feel free to share your ideas.

Thanks.
