SAN DIEGO -- Continuing to dominate the MoCA Home Networking market, Entropic (Nasdaq: ENTR), a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, proudly announced today the NETGEAR WM2500RP MoCA-to-WiFi extender, based on Entropic’s EN2710 MoCA 2.0 solution, is the first MoCA 2.0 certified product available on the market.

The NETGEAR WM2500RP MoCA-to-WiFi extender improves whole-home video and data coverage by delivering more than 400 Megabits per second (Mbps) of usable throughput in basic mode and 500 Mbps in Turbo mode; providing end-users the most reliable wired backbone to distribute Ultra High-Definition (HD) media, low latency online and cloud gaming, over-the-top (OTT) / Internet content and wireless entertainment anywhere in the home.

The NETGEAR WM2500RP leverages Entropic's powerful EN2710 MoCA 2.0 chipset, which features a complete solution with MAC, PHY, RF transceiver and RF front-end functionality. It offers low power modes and is fully backward interoperable with prior MoCA versions (MoCA 1.1 and 1.0). Entropic was the first to officially announce Board-approved MoCA 2.0 Golden Node certification in December 2013.
