Podcast: CenturyLink's CxO Moves & Do We Really Need RFPs?

What's at the top of CTOs' concerns these days? It's not hot new hardware or something you can see in your VR goggles. Instead, it's a collection of dull yet critical things that make it possible for networks to evolve.

"We've now reached a point where the networks are changing so much that all of these support mechanisms are changing radically," said Ray Le Maistre, Light Reading's editor in chief. "For many people, if you looked at a list of topics like service assurance for 5G... they might find it hard to stifle a yawn. But actually, this stuff is really energizing a lot of people and is at the top of a lot of CTOs' and CIOs' lists for what they really need to do as they evolve the physical infrastructure towards 5G," he said.
