TiVo Makes its Suddenlink Debut

December 16, 2010 |

ST. LOUIS -- Suddenlink, the seventh largest cable operator in the United States, and TiVo Inc. (NASDAQ: TIVO), a leader in advanced television services including digital video recorders (DVRs), today announced the launch of the TiVo® Premiere DVR from Suddenlink in Lubbock and Midland, Texas. This new service brings Suddenlink customers in those communities a unique set of advanced viewing features.

The TiVo Premiere combines Suddenlink's service with TiVo's best-in-class user interface to offer access to thousands of hours of entertainment choices, including content from Suddenlink's video-on-demand (VOD) library and the Web, all accessible through TiVo's advanced search and discovery features. Suddenlink is the only multichannel TV service provider in these communities to offer TiVo Premiere.

"We chose to partner with TiVo because of its award-winning user experience, reputation for innovation, and ability to help us launch quickly," said Jerry Kent, Suddenlink's Chairman and CEO. "We will roll out the TiVo Premiere solution to our customers in Lubbock and Midland, first, and plan to expand to additional markets in 2011."

"TiVo and Suddenlink share a common goal: to deliver a unique product that offers customers the only cable solution that combines linear channels, cable video on demand and Web entertainment all in one device," said Tom Rogers, President and CEO of TiVo. "We applaud Suddenlink for its leadership and for offering its customers an unprecedented range of content, applications, and features unmatched by the competition."
