RCN Hires Biz Services VP

HERNDON, Va. -- RCN Corporation, a leading provider of all-digital and high definition video, high-speed internet, and premium voice services to residential and small-medium sized business customers, as well as high-capacity transport services to carrier and large enterprise customers, has appointed Mary Jane Horne as vice president, general manager of RCN Business Services.

"With her expertise and extensive industry experience, Mary Jane is an excellent choice to oversee the overall growth and direction of the division and all aspects of its business operations," said RCN President and CEO Peter Aquino. "Her leadership, knowledge and business prowess serve this division well, and I look forward to continued delivery of high quality, exceptional results in meeting the needs of our small-medium sized business customers."

Bringing with her over 20 years of telecom and cable industry experience, MJ has been with RCN Corporation for the past five years, holding such executive positions as vice president, corporate development, where she orchestrated the acquisitions of ConEdison Communications and NEON Communications, and CTO RCN Business Services, where she expanded the direction of the organization beyond traditional telephony solutions to emerging VoIP and managed services offerings.
