LogicaCMG Wins OmanMay 15, 2006 | Post a comment
no ratings LONDON -- LogicaCMG today announced that it has won a contract to supply additional Next Generation Messaging products and solutions to Oman Mobile, Oman’s leading mobile operator, to facilitate the development and growth of the operator’s services in their newly deregulated wireless marketplace. Oman Mobile, faced with strong growth of demand as well as new competition entering the marketplace, is upgrading its existing LogicaCMG Short Messaging Service Centre (SMSC) as well as investing in LogicaCMG’s other leading platforms. LogicaCMG has developed a flexible, scalable solution that will support the rapid deployment of new, innovative services to Oman Mobile, while handling high volumes of traffic throughout the network. LogicaCMG’s Next Generation SMSC is based on an all-IP architecture that will enable Oman Mobile to reduce complexity and costs, while at the same time enabling a timely introduction of new services. This will simplify service delivery through a single point of access to Oman Mobile’s messaging infrastructure. Oman Mobile will be able to offer its customers complete and direct control over the reception of a wide range of location based information services, sending emergency alerts that target all users that are currently within the network. Oman Mobile will be able to better understand usage patterns, collate and analyse subscriber behaviour patterns and more accurately target new service development and delivery. Aneth Arosemena, Division Head Marketing & Sales at Oman Mobile said: “LogicaCMG’s Next Generation Messaging technology and solutions are helping us grow our service offerings, increasing customer satisfaction and delivering significant return on investment. Our decision to further invest in LogicaCMG’s Next Generation messaging solution is based on our existing relationship and the company’s strong messaging heritage and expertise.” Nabil Y. Khalil, director of LogicaCMG’s telecoms business in Middle East and North Africa, said: “Oman Mobile’s commitment to further investment in LogicaCMG’s messaging technology is a real testament to the strength of the relationship and the quality of service that we have delivered.
