I have heard that Yahoo BB, Japanese CLEC is delpoying Pole mounted VDSL2 switched for their BB services. Technology is pure ethernet based VDSL2 switch and CPEs.

Is anyone familliar with how the BBNed trials of VDSL by deploying cabinets adjacent to KPN's are going, or whether people have heard of other Altnets looking at such a model? Right now most of the FTTC deployments seem to be by incumbent operators.
