STOCKHOLM -- Transmode, a global supplier of packet-optical networking solutions, today announced that a UK infrastructure company MS3 has selected Transmode for packet-optical networks and is initially deploying a new business access network in the city of Hull. The contract win is part of a major investment by MS3 to create a high-speed alternative communications provider for the city and region.
The network team at MS3 chose Transmode as the optical networking provider for its new network to ensure maximum capacity for the city of Hull. The deployment of Transmode's TM-Series optical networking system will enable MS3 to provide a wide range of communications services including 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Internet services to businesses throughout the city. It will be the first time enterprises in the area have had a choice of service provision. The planned network is currently being built and the first phase is now operational.
The new network was jointly designed between Transmode and MS3 to meet the long-term needs of businesses in the area. MS3 is deploying Transmode's TM-Series including the Native Packet Optical 2.0 Ethernet Muxponder (EMXP), to ensure that MS3 can deliver high-quality and high-speed services over its new state-of-the art network.
