NEW YORK -- Sidera Networks, the premier provider of fiber optic based network solutions, announces it has begun construction of a fiber optic network that will interconnect major cities throughout Virginia. This new network will add over 1,000 route miles to Sidera's already expansive East Coast network footprint, delivering greater reach to a broad audience of customers that require scalable, resilient, and diverse network solutions.

The Virginia expansion will extend Sidera's fiber network from its southernmost point today in Chantilly, VA to major cities including Richmond, Newport News, Roanoke and points in between. The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2013.

"The new Virginia network is an important extension of our footprint, providing both new and existing customers with access to key locations throughout Virginia," states Clint Heiden, President of Sidera Networks. "Sidera already connects to approximately 125 data centers; the Virginia network will provide our customers with access to additional data centers in key areas such as Culpeper and Richmond."
