AMSTERDAM -- ECOC 2012 -- Two things are immediately apparent when you wander around the hundreds of exhibitor stands on the show floor here.
The first is that there are a great many components companies staffed by very clever people willing to tell anyone about their very focused product sets.
The second is that these companies are not relying on gimmicks to attract show floor traffic to their stands -- they're obviously confident that a conservative approach to event marketing will be sufficient to gain footfall.
That means there's very little that's "photogenic" going on at ECOC, so picture pickings are slim. Here's what attracted our lens...

Oh -- that's a fiber spool that's in the FTTX picture. I thought it was a wheel, and the silver "data centre" was some kind of FTTX contraption on wheels.
I don't even know what that would mean, which is why I gave the photo a second look. :)
