OFC/NFOEC 2012: New Product Recap

Introduction

In this feature, we look back at a selection of new telecom-related products announced during, for or around the 2012 OFC/NFOEC . As usual, our emphasis here is on communications-oriented products and companies.

We organized this list into a few fairly broad categories. Because OFC/NFOEC focuses pretty tightly on optical components and devices, we have tried to reduce the burden on the Components & Devices category by pushing some items into categories closer to their intended area of application. So, for example, devices that operate at the line side of 100G carrier transmission systems will generally be found under Carrier Transport & Optical Networking, whereas those operating internally within a node or equipment will generally be found under Components & Devices. Make sense?
