Listen again. I said Apple's had more of a runaway success [with the iPhone] in the smartphone category than anything that has come before it. That's a fairly harmless statement.
What one family of phones has sold units more in a shorter span? Galaxy? Moto Blur? BlackBerry Bold?
So I'm not saying the own the market exclusively. But they've had more of a runaway success than anything else. That market power could be something to watch when/if they come out with an LTE-capable phone in the next 12 months.
