Do You Hate YouTube?

7:00 PM -- Here at Light Ranting we admit fully to being YouTube Inc. skeptics. When the Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) acquisition was done, we wondered how all of those dirty little legal details of copyrighted content would be resolved. (See Google Gone Gaga.)

Well, slowly but surely, it's happening. Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA) has made clear it wants its pirated content removed immediately. That includes 100,000 videos. The media behemoth says Google has yet to offer a deal it can take seriously.

But, it's not just the big guys that are PO'd.

Recently, representatives from the independent music community expressed annoyance with revenue sharing deals offered by YouTube. The indies allege that the video sharing site has been low-balling them and are holding out for deals on a par with what the majors see.

Hey, at least they're not being subjected to talk about hairstyles from the 70s.
