(NASDAQ: MRVC) (“MRV”), a leading provider of innovative packet and optical solutions, announced today it has expanded the intelligent OptiDriver optical transport portfolio by unveiling new 12 and 16 slot chassis. The new OptiDriver chassis are optimized for smaller data center interconnects, Tier 3 service providers, cable operators, enterprises and others who have limited space for network equipment and may not need the full capacity provided by the OptiDriver 48 slot chassis. The new OptiDriver solutions address the unique needs of smaller 10G and 100G networking environments with the right balance of bandwidth and integrated management features to streamline the delivery of advanced services like cloud connectivity and content delivery. Support for these services allows smaller network operators to expand their service portfolios and increase their competitiveness in the marketplace.

The smaller OptiDriver chassis feature the advanced capabilities offered by all solutions within the OptiDriver portfolio. Customers can now eliminate unused capacity and space while accessing a feature-rich optical transport platform that offers the industry’s most compact 10G transport and the lowest power consumption per 10G/100G service. The OptiDriver 16 slot chassis supports a single row of single-height cards optimized for high-density 10G applications in remote locations. The OptiDriver 12 slot chassis features a patent-pending design that holds three rows of flexible dual-height cards capable of supporting emerging technologies like 100G and ROADM. Additionally, the OptiDriver 12 slot chassis may be utilized for redundant management hardware in locations that require enhanced management reliability. The entire OptiDriver portfolio is integrated with MRV’s Pro-Vision service delivery platform. Built-in processing for current and emerging intelligent control plane technologies like GMPLS and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) enables quick integration into new and existing networks.
