Cox Pops Wi-Fi in Virginia & Connecticut

ATLANTA -- Cox Communications announced today that it will launch a network of Cox WiFi hotspots for consumers in its Northern Virginia and Connecticut markets.

The value-added service allows Cox High Speed Internet customers to access Internet at home and on the go. Subscribers to Cox’s Preferred, Premier and Ultimate tiers will have free access to Cox WiFi as part of their product bundles.

As customers’ needs and behaviors continue to change over time, especially with the explosive growth of smart phones, tablets and other connected devices, Cox WiFi allows access to reliable high speed Internet in home and on the go.

Accessing Cox WiFi is simple. When customers are in a hotspot coverage area, they will see the Cox WiFi network location (SSID) in the list of available networks on their wireless device. Customers simply enter their Cox user ID and password to log in to Cox WiFi. Once authenticated, they will be able to browse the Internet at more than 1,400 hotspots in Northern Virginia and Connecticut.
