ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ -- OE Solutions announces the OC-48/STM-16 TSoP (Transparent SONET/SDH over Packet) Smart SFP. This new TSoP SFP+ transceiver extends the Smart SFP Network Migration portfolio to include transport of 2.5G TDM signals, specifically OC-48 and STM-16, over 10G packet networks. The Smart SFP Network Migration portfolio is a leading solution for cost-effective plug-and-play TDM to Packet migration.

Carriers are rapidly migrating their TDM networks to packet-based network solutions. However, demand continues to exist for TDM services leaving carriers with the challenge of meeting that demand in a cost-effective manner while deploying next generation packet network solutions. The TSoP Smart SFP is an efficient and cost-effective solution for network migration from T1/E1 up to OC-48/STM-16 rates. The latest TSoP Smart SFP enables transport of OC-48/STM-16 client signals over packet, WDM and microwave radio networks when plugged into a switch or router.

Together with TPoP (Transparent PDH over Packet) and CSoP (Channelized SONET/SDH over Packet) Smart SFP, TSoP Smart SFP is an efficient and cost-effective solution for network migration allowing operators to migrate and integrate their TDM-based transport networks onto a single-technology packet network without installing dedicated circuit emulation cards in their routers or switches, or deploying dedicated TDM-over-Packet equipment boxes. The Network Migration solutions also bring benefits to utility network operators who have many lower data rate TDM streams.

“This latest version of the TSoP Smart SFP product family is capable of processing data at 10 Gbit/s in an MSA-compliant SFP+ form factor. This enables applications of the Smart SFP at higher data rates and in more locations in the network” said Jan Venema, CTO of AimValley, a technology development partner to OE Solutions. “Our Smart SFP Solutions offers a true plug-and-play way to upgrade your network.”

The OC-48/STM-16 TSoP Smart SFP transceiver is currently available as engineering sample for testing. General availability will be in Q2 2016.
