LAS VEGAS -- (International Consumer Electronics Show) – MaxLinear Inc. (NYSE: MXL), a leading provider of radio frequency (RF) and mixed-signal integrated circuits for cable and satellite broadband communications, the connected home, and for data center, metro, and long-haul fiber networks, today announced the MxL3705, the world’s first fully integrated Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) 2.0 system solution that exceeds gigabit-per-second data rates.

MoCA has become essential to pay TV operators for guaranteed distribution of broadband data service throughout the home, moving past its roots as an enabler of multi-room DVR or video gateway / IP-STB networks. Service providers are leveraging in-home coax wiring to create wired data backbones connected to multiple Wi-Fi access distribution points to dramatically improve subscribers’ user experience of accessible data speeds everywhere inside the home.

As broadband operators invest in platforms capable of greater than 1Gbps broadband speeds entering the home, the need for a home networking solution that matches the same gigabit-plus data speed performance is essential. The MxL3705 is the only MoCA device on the market that eliminates today’s in-home broadband distribution bottleneck of sub-gigabit-per-second data speeds.

As the pioneer of MoCA technology, MaxLinear’s MxL3705 is the culmination of eight generations of MoCA technology and the field-experience gained from 120 million chips in cumulative shipments. The MxL3705 constitutes the world’s highest-performance coax home networking solution with the greatest level of integration and lowest power in the market.
