BEIJING -- Entropic (Nasdaq:ENTR), a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, announced today the EN231x, a low-power, cost-effective Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA(R)) 1.1 solution specifically designed to serve the China home networking market.

The EN231x is the latest addition to Entropic's MoCA family that enables a complete multimedia coaxial networking solution for at home distribution of multiple streams of high definition (HD) and Ultra HD audio/video, voice and broadband data. The EN231x offers best-in-class value for next-generation embedded products requiring the features and throughput performance of a MoCA 1.1 home network. The EN231x offers convenience and cost savings by using advanced 40nm process technology and optimized companion RF transceiver.

"The need for a reliable home networking backbone to connect multiple devices, both wired and wireless, in today's China homes has begun to ramp," said Roger Gregory, vice president, Marketing, Entropic. "We believe introducing our EN231x MoCA solution gives subscribers in China the opportunity to have a high performance, robust communication infrastructure using existing home coaxial cables without the need for new wiring or modifications. It also enables Chinese MSOs the ability to offer new revenue-generating services with the confidence the home network can support them."
