Comcast Taps Network Troubleshooter

ATLANTA -- Lancope, Inc., a leader in network visibility and security intelligence, has announced that Comcast is leveraging its StealthWatch System to obtain deeper network visibility and security context for vastly improved troubleshooting and incident response.

Lancope and SANS will host a complimentary webinar featuring Comcast on Wednesday, January 30 at 1:00 p.m. ET to discuss how the company can more easily perform traffic analysis on its backbone, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) detection at its service delivery layer, and troubleshooting at its data center and enterprise layers with StealthWatch. Comcast Corporation is one of the world's leading media, entertainment and communications companies, operating two primary businesses, Comcast Cable and NBCUniversal. 'With our previous solution, when a problem occurred in our data center, we didn't have the visibility to see how and when it occurred,' said Daniel Phan, Comcast's senior security engineer. 'We also didn't have the capacity and scalability to support the 500+ core routers that we have right now.' According to Comcast, StealthWatch scales significantly better than competitive tools by a 10 to 1 ratio.
