CoAdna Intros New WSS's

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- CoAdna Photonics, Inc. today announced its Twin 1xN Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) product series. Enabled by CoAdna Gen-2 LightFlow™ technology platform, the Twin 1xN WSS supports flexible bandwidth and route/select architecture for next generation coherent metro networks. CoAdna’s extended ROADM product portfolio including Twin 1xN series will be showcased at CoAdna’s booth # 2009 during OFC/NFOEC 2013 in Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, CA, 19-21 March 2013.

With the Next-Gen ROADM systems that can support data rates beyond 100Gbps being deployed in the long-haul core networks starting this year, ROADM systems for coherent metro networks is at the planning stage. Compared to optical-long haul network, metro network will deploy in much larger scale and demand higher flexibility and lower cost. CoAdna’s Twin 1xN WSS series is tailored for the next-gen coherent metro network applications. It is powered by Gen-2 LightFlowTM switch engine, featured with Flexband capability at 12.5GHz granularity, and packed in the CoAdna standard packaging form with compatible electrical and software interfaces. This provides network equipment manufacturers (NEMs) with increased flexibility, improved spectral efficiency, lower overall component costs and development cost, and shorter time to market.
