The service is optimised for mobile, enterprise, and M2M applications. With data centres in the UK and Spain, Instant Servers is backed by Telefónica’s world-class infrastructure management and services capabilities.

Customers will benefit from the reassurance of a market-leading service level agreement (SLA) of 99.996% per year backed by a financial compensation in the event of non-compliance. Instant Servers also achieves lower operations costs allowing customers to serve more workloads per virtual machine when compared to other public cloud services. Customers will be able to acquire, manage, monitor and control their virtual servers quickly and simply via the http://cloud.telefonica.com/instantservers/ website at all times. They can also acquire new servers of the size, operating system and applications they want, delete the servers they no longer need and manage the capacity of any SmartOS server or application. Customers can manage all of these variables in accordance with the demand specified at any given time without having to reboot or disconnect the server and without any additional cost.

Instant Servers’ cloud computing infrastructure is built on Joyent’s cloud infrastructure, a highperformance cloud infrastructure that is the only solution specifically built to power real-time web, enterprise and mobile applications. Unlike other cloud solutions, Instant Servers’ virtual server can automatically and instantly grow in capacity by 400% to handle large spikes in usage or traffic.
