12:05 PM -- Dr. Guanghan Xu, one of the founders of Navini Networks Inc. -- which Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) snapped up for $330 million in October last year -- is also the founder of a Chinese broadband wireless access manufacturer called Xinwei Telecom Technology. (See Cisco Buys Navini for $330M and Cisco's WiMax Ambitions.)
Xinwei's proprietary technology is called McWiLL (multi-carrier wireless information local loop) -- we don’t think it comes with fries -- and is described as the Chinese version of WiMax. The technology is being deployed for the Beijing Olympics this year.
