CEO Verwaayen to Step Down at Alcatel-Lucent

Barack Obama might not be a one-termer, but Ben Verwaayen is.Alcatel-Lucent's board voted Wednesday to accept Verwaayen's decision to step down as CEO, French paper Le Monde reported late Wednesday night, Paris time. (Here's an English rendition, published by Reuters.)He may hand over to his successor at the vendor's annual shareholders' meeting on May 7.Verwaayen became CEO of AlcaLu on Sept. 15, 2008.Light Reading will publish more on this story as it develops.
