Bitcoin, a decentralized digital currency, enables instant peer-to-peer transactions, worldwide payments with low or zero processing fees. The community-driven software operates with no central authority - managing transactions and the issuing of bitcoins is carried out collectively by the network. The new currency has been gaining in popularity over the past four years, a choice method of payment by individuals, businesses and developers alike.
