If you provide VOIP services, you need to be CALEA compliant very soon. The FCC says so, and you know what a tough bunch of mothers they are.

CALEA is very important because it allows law enforcement to wiretap private communications so that the citizenry -- presumably those not being wiretapped at the time -- can be better served.

The CALEA logo, which features the colors blue and gold, is important, too. It's also greatly symbolic, as noted on one helpful Website:

The gold represents something of value that shines brightly. Blue has been associated with many qualities, but here it represents "the thin blue line" of law enforcement.
