CENTENNIAL, Colo., – Evolution Digital today introduces a new product name, eBOX, for the company’s revolutionary IP Hybrid Set-Top Box. eBOX enables cable operators to seamlessly transition to IP distribution, as well as deliver a blend of traditional live linear TV and Video on Demand services with over-the-top IP video content on one integrated platform.

"The rebranding of our IP Hybrid Set-Top Box reflects both the evolution of the company, as well as its vision for the future," said Brent Smith, president and chief technology officer. "Over the past year, eBOX has been recognized as the leading device that delivers a compelling entertainment experience for consumers. And by combining linear cable channels and the prominent OTT services with universal search, a unified guide and one HDMI connection into the TV, eBOX gives the consumer seamless search and discovery functionality to easily find their favorite content."

In July 2015, Evolution Digital first announced the development of eBOX with a guide powered by TiVo, Inc., with added features including TiVo’s world-renowned universal search, navigation and recommendations features. Additionally, eBOX can operate in the QAM/IP hybrid mode or be configured to support an all-IP platform, allowing the operator to deploy one low-cost STB to implement current and future technological advancements.

Earlier this year, eBOX, powered by TiVo, earned the Cablefax 2016 Tech Award for Best New Product. To date, Evolution Digital has secured agreements for eBOX with Wide Open West and the National Cable Television Cooperation. eBOX is in lab trials with several Tier 2 operators and more agreements are expected to be announced in the coming months.
