NEW YORK, NY and LENEXA, KS -- Light Reading and the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) today announced a comprehensive partnership to create and market multimedia content for smaller and independent cable operators, including such key cable tech topics as OTT video, DOCSIS 3.1/Gigabit services, cable business services, virtualization, TV Everywhere and cable WiFi.

As part of this partnership, NCTC and Light Reading will work together to develop a wide range of webinars, videos and possibly other materials. Light Reading will assume the primary role in producing this portfolio of media materials, with strong content, branding, promotional speakers and other support from NCTC.

The agreement also calls for the two organizations to join forces in producing and marketing Light Reading's annual series of cable, video and broadband conferences, with NCTC supplying content, speakers and other materials for the events.

"We couldn't be more delighted about teaming up with NCTC because they are the premier organization representing independent cable operators and other service providers in North America," said Light Reading Cable/Video Practice Leader Alan Breznick. "At a time when so much consolidation is occurring among the larger MSOs, NCTC can help us reach hundreds of smaller operators with our world-class content."

"Light Reading's expertise, industry vision and cable content will be extremely supportive of the expanding mission of NCTC and the growing needs of our members," said John Childress, Vice President of Product Strategy and Management. "We look forward to working with Light Reading's outstanding team of editors and analysts to develop content that amplifies the educational benefits that NCTC strives to offer its members."

The Light Reading/NCTC content partnership will kick off with a webinar series this spring. The series will consist of six webinars this year, starting with the OTT video and Gigabit services topics.
