Comcast Multi-Gig Atlanta Site Signs 16 New Customers
ATLANTA – Comcast Business said it has signed 16 new business customers inside The Battery Atlanta, and several others nearby as the advanced network that will power the Atlanta Braves’ new ballpark and mixed use development nears completion. Recent customer additions include Mizuno USA, The Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre, and The Omni Hotel.
The network, operated by Comcast Business, is one of the largest sports venues and mixed-use development installations in the country with exceptional capacity driven by the two 100 Gbps Ethernet lines, which went live last month, and 320 Wi-Fi access points that are being placed throughout the mixed-use complex, in addition to 800 located within SunTrust Park.
“The extensive network infrastructure capacity offered at The Battery Atlanta is attractive to customers looking to showcase a host of emerging technology applications,” said Jeremy Strife, Vice President of Atlanta Braves Development and general manager of The Battery Atlanta. “Many Battery Atlanta tenants cite the Comcast Business internet service as an opportunity to explore more sophisticated brand experiences and interact with visitors, fans and customers in exciting new ways.”
Comcast will provide video, voice and high-speed Internet connectivity throughout the 60-acre project, which includes the new ballpark, retail shops, restaurants, an office tower, hotel, an entertainment venue and residential units. The development’s all-fiber network will be capable of delivering multi-gigabit speeds throughout the complex on game days and every day in between. Comcast will also become the signature tenant in a multi-story office building within the development that will house more than 1,000 Comcast employees.
The Battery Atlanta’s boutique shopping, chef-driven restaurants, hotel, entertainment venues and residences are drawing multiple businesses to the region, making a direct impact on the economic development in Cobb County. Recent figures from the Cumberland Community Improvement District (CID) shows that the Braves’ project has ignited office and residential growth nearby, including five Class A office towers, all of which are nearly 100 percent leased, and 37 new construction starts or improvements within the CID since 2013.
