BT announced the conclusion of a new VOD film deal with independent studio Lionsgate Entertainment for its next-generation TV service

LONDON -- BT today announced the conclusion of a new video-on-demand film deal with independent studio Lionsgate Entertainment Corp for its next-generation TV service, BT Vision, which it will launch in autumn 2006.

This new deal will provide BT Vision customers with access to the Lionsgate library, one of the biggest independent film libraries in the world. Titles include Jeepers Creepers, Open Water, Reservoir Dogs, The Gift, Dirty Dancing, Dune and the Oscar-winning documentary One Day in September.

Dan Marks, CEO of BT Vision, said: “This is another great deal which ensures that BT Vision customers will be able to access yet more classic films. This agreement with Lionsgate shows that our commitment to bring the best and most varied entertainment is continuing unabated.”

Guy Avshalom, head of legal and business affairs Europe at Lionsgate, said: “BT has a very smart approach to VOD and we are delighted to be in business with it.”
