TAG acquires 100% of blizoo, one of the largest cable operators in the Republic of Macedonia, offering TV services, broadband, and fixed voice.

VIENNA -- Telekom Austria Group has today announced its acquisition of 100 % of blizoo Macedonia, one of the largest cable operators in the Republic of Macedonia, offering TV services, broadband and fixed voice. The acquisition is a welcome addition to Telekom Austria Group and represents a significant step in fulfilling the Group´s convergence strategy. The transaction is subject to merger control clearance. The acquisition will enable Vip operator and blizoo to offer bundled fixed and mobile services in Macedonia and complements the Group's existing convergent footprint in Austria, Bulgaria and Croatia.

"The takeover of blizoo Macedonia allows us to offer the full scale of communications services in the fourth country within our group and is a step forward in the execution of our successful convergence strategy ", says Hannes Ametsreiter, CEO of Telekom Austria Group and A1.

blizoo Macedonia currently has 63,000 subscribers, of which 47,000 are broadband subscribers. In 2013 revenues amounted to approximately EUR 10 million. Telekom Austria Group will finance the transaction via existing cash flow. It has been agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
