BANGALORE, India -- Tejas Networks India Pvt. Ltd, an optical networking start-up based in Bangalore, India, today announced the release of its TJ 100 family of versatile, carrier-class optical access products, that brings the power of the Intelligent Optical Networking technology from the network core to the access. TJ 100 is a highly flexible family of next generation access products supporting both TDM (SDH/SONET) and packet interfaces. The TJ 100 family integrates both transport and switching functions in a compact, power-efficient module that can be deployed in the carriers points-of-presence (POP) and used as customer premises equipment (CPE).

The key differentiator of TJ 100 is its software-centric architecture, which supports end-to-end provisioning of TDM (T1/E1, T3/E3, OC-3/STM-1, OC-12/STM-4) and Ethernet connections, auto-discovery of network topology, easy upgrade-ability and a fully functional Element Management System.

Dr. Kumar Sivarajan, CTO of Tejas Networks said, "Our vision is to provide a complete intelligent optical access solution and the introduction of the TJ 100 family of products is our first step in realizing this vision."
