OBERHAUSEN, Germany -- ACCESS CO., LTD, a global provider of advanced software solutions to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, today announced that its ACCESSMyTV™ social TV and over-the-top platform is planned to launch in Germany during Q4 2012. ACCESSMyTV is integrated with a new Fortis DVB-S2 HbbTV ready set-top box, enabling consumers to build and share OTT channels through Facebook. Expected to be available in German retail from Q4 2012, ACCESSMyTV will be demonstrated running on a Fortis set-top box at IBC on the ACCESS (14.103) and Fortis (4.B70) exhibition stands.

The ACCESSMyTV powered set-top box from Fortis enables German consumers to watch and interact with terrestrial TV, enjoy OTT content using HbbTV plus build their own personal TV OTT web video channels, watch them back on any device connected to the internet and take part in the Social TV revolution through integration with social media networks such as Facebook. This social network sharing of user-built personal web video channels will drive consumers towards ACCESSMyTV and the Fortis set-top box and enable them to see how they too can share in Germany’s ACCESSMyTV powered social TV revolution.

“ACCESSMyTV really puts German consumers at the frontier of next generation TV through its integration of social media and OTT with Germany’s HbbTV Smart TV applications,” said Dr. Neale Foster, VP of Global Sales IA, ACCESS. “With this launch Germany’s consumers can build personal web video channels, watch them back on any device and use social media networks such as Facebook to publicize and share these channels. I’m really looking forward to watching this powerful viral marketing effect working for both ACCESS and Fortis,” concluded Dr. Foster.

Understanding the full experience of women in technology requires starting at the collegiate level (or sooner) and studying the technologies women are involved with, company cultures they're part of and personal experiences of individuals.

During this WiC radio show, we will talk with Nicole Engelbert, the director of Research & Analysis for Ovum Technology and a 23-year telecom industry veteran, about her experiences and perspectives on women in tech. Engelbert covers infrastructure, applications and industries for Ovum, but she is also involved in the research firm's higher education team and has helped colleges and universities globally leverage technology as a strategy for improving recruitment, retention and graduation performance.

She will share her unique insight into the collegiate level, where women pursuing engineering and STEM-related degrees is dwindling. Engelbert will also reveal new, original Ovum research on the topics of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, security and augmented reality, as well as discuss what each of those technologies might mean for women in our field. As always, we'll also leave plenty of time to answer all your questions live on the air and chat board.
