MEXICO CITY -- Cisco announced today that MULTIMEDIOS REDES, a leading Mexican company offering triple play services telephony, Internet and video in the northern states of Nuevo Leon, Coahuila and Tamaulipas, has chosen the Cisco DOCSIS 3.0 solution.

DOCSIS 3.0 next-generation cable access network is one of the key components of the Cisco IP Next Generation Network (IP NGN). The flexibility of the platform allows operators to expand the broadband capabilities of their networks to support new services. DOCSIS 3.0 helps operators address network speed limitations by enabling them to increase upstream and downstream speeds to 1G, and also provides support for the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) with advance network capabilities, address space expansion device mobility, support and easier device operation.

MULTIMEDIOS REYEes, through CABLEVISION and TELUM, offers services for residential and enterprise markets. Cablevision, with over 40 years in Monterrey, has over 900,000 subscribers, offering cable TV, Internet and telephony services. Telum, focused in the enterprise market, started operations 10 years ago and has one of the most important fiber optics deployments for its operation.
