SUWANEE, Ga. -- ARRIS Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARRS), today announced that its DOCSIS 3.0 certified Touchstone 702G Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter (EMTA) has also been certified PacketCable 1.5 compliant in CableLabs' Certification Wave 59. This double compliance is an industry first and means that cable operators are now able to deploy primary line telephony service in conjunction with channel bonded wideband data service, through the versatility and efficiency of one device in a customer's home, saving operators capital expense investment. Additionally, the ARRIS Touchstone Wideband Modem WBM750, the latest iteration in the ARRIS cable modem suite, was also certified DOCSIS 3.0 compliant.

The Touchstone 702G supports up to four bonded channels in both the upstream and downstream directions, allowing operators to offer up to 120 Mbps upstream and 160 Mbps downstream high speed data services. ARRIS will use the 702G to demonstrate symmetrical channel bonding at the SCTE EXPO, June 25-28 in Philadelphia. The 702G also supports two lines of PacketCable compliant carrier grade VoIP.

"This certification wave is further validation that the ARRIS Touchstone suite of customer premises devices leads the industry in the introduction of new innovative, standards-based products," said Bruce McClelland, President, ARRIS Broadband Communications Systems. "The ability to integrate Channel Bonding and IPv6 into a voice-enabled PacketCable MTA CPE device is a milestone for ARRIS and the industry and further demonstrates the technological innovation that has become synonymous with the ARRIS Touchstone brand."
