With the Octal G.shdsl module, the Total Access 3000 DSLAM delivers 224 ports of G.shdsl from remote terminals or central offices. With its recently introduced increased capacity, the Total Access 3000 has scalability to over 3,000 ports from a single network feed. G.shdsl is the standards-based Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technology providing adaptive service rates from 192 kbps to 2.3 Mbps over one wire pair. ADTRAN was a driving force and key influencer behind the G.shdsl standard, assuming the task of editor in the ITU committee when the project was created. Resulting from the convergence of the best features of traditional DSL technologies, G.shdsl incorporates rate/range adaptability, spectral compatibility, impairment tolerance, and high-speed symmetric deployment.
