OVERLAND PARK, KAN., -- Sprint (NYSE: S) announced the appointment of Jan Geldmacher, a veteran of European telecom companies, as President of Enterprise. Effective August 22, he will oversee business-to-business sales and business development, supporting enterprise customers with wireless communications solutions and services.

Reporting to Marcelo Claure, Sprint president and CEO, Geldmacher joins Sprint from Vodafone where he led Vodafone Global Enterprise, a business unit responsible for defining the strategy and operational execution of the company’s relationship with multinational corporate customers. He also previously served as Vodafone’s director of the Enterprise Business Unit, CEO of British Telecom Germany, and in various management and sales positions at European telecom companies.

Sprint’s network, now performing at its highest levels, is prepared to serve national business clients with many lines, devices and mobility issues. Under Geldmacher’s leadership, Sprint will begin aggressively targeting and serving enterprise companies of all sizes.

Geldmacher graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne.
