Padmasree Warrior, Cisco's chief technology and strategy officer, will leave the company this summer, according to a report in Re/Code on Monday.

The tech news site says it expects an announcement within three weeks, and that Warrior's last day on the job will be July 25. That's the day before new CEO Chuck Robbins takes over as CEO, succeeding longtime boss John Chambers. It's also the day that Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) Presidents Rob Lloyd and Gary Moore have announced as their last. (See 2 Cisco Presidents Quit.)

Robbins said today he plans to announce a new executive line-up within two weeks. Cisco "will not comment on any rumors about who will be on that team in the interim," a company spokesman says.

Warrior has a "mixed reputation," according to Business Insider. She's "smart, articulate, good with customers and was a well-known name and face associated with the company," often demonstrating new technology on stage at company events. She advised and mentored startups, particularly those headed by women.

At the same time, the site suggests she didn't get a lot of respect as an engineering leader, which was her initial job at the vendor.

Warrior joined Cisco in 2008, previously executive vice president and CTO at Motorola, according to her company biography. She holds a BS in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi and a master of science in chemical engineering from Cornell.

At Cisco, Warrior succeeded Charlie Giancarlo, once also considered a possible Chambers successor, Re/code reports. Giancarlo left to run Avaya Inc. , where he spent eight months as interim CEO and is now its chairman.
