BARCELONA, Spain -- SMC Networks (www.smc.com) today announced the launch of two new ADSL2+ Barricade™ Modem Routers: the SMC7901BRA2, with one Ethernet and one USB port, and the SMC7904BRA2, with four Ethernet ports. Both of these modem routers support the new ADSL2+ technology, and incorporate leading-edge performance and quality of service (QoS) features.

Based on the same chip set as the recently launched SMC7904WBRA2, the SMC ADSL2+ Barricade™ routers combine an ADSL2/2+ modem, a router, either a one-Ethernet/one USB port or a 4-port 10/100 LAN switch, and an SPI Firewall with ample support for key service provisioning and end user requirements.

“The new Barricade routers are designed to support customers who are taking advantage of new ADSL2+ services which offer higher bandwidth, and a growing market of users who demand QoS for applications such as VoIP ,” said James Harris, Worldwide Product Manager for Broadband products at SMC. “The new chip set used in these SMC Barricade modem routers allowed us to deliver products that provide more features at a lower price than the competition.”
