("Enablence")(TSX VENTURE:ENA - News), a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) equipment for residential and business services, announced the addition of the ITU G.984 GPON standard-compliant ONT-G888 series Optical Network Terminals ("ONTs") to its industry leading TRIDENT7(TM) product line today. The product is now commercially available and shipping to customers. The TRIDENT7(TM) Universal Access platform is the industry's only FTTx platform capable of delivering standards-based support of ITU G.984 GPON, IEEE 802.3 GE-PON (EFM PON), and IEEE 802.3 Point-to-Point triple-play services from a common platform.

"The ITU G.984 GPON standard-compliant ONT-G888 joins our IEEE GE-PON and Point-to-Point standards-compliant ONT-E888 as part of our ONT lineup specific to Multiple Dwelling Units (MDU) applications," explained Arvind Chhatbar, CEO for Enablence. The ONT-E1321i series ONT is now generally available and shipping to customers.

The ONT-E1321i series of triple-play indoor ONTs is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3 GE-PON (EFM PON) and Point-to-Point optical access standards. By providing multiple triple-play ports, this ONT extends well beyond the applications afforded by previous indoor ONTs. The design also allows the direct connection of various triple-play devices, such as POTS telephones and RF video set top boxes, while multiple data ports eliminate the need for external switches or routers for small home networks. The ports provided include a Gigabit Ethernet port, three Ethernet ports, two POTS ports, and one optional RF video port all in an aesthetic consumer electronics form. Enablence's patented integrated RF return is also available as an option, which supports RF return over the same single fiber as all other services without additional wavelengths.
