BERNE, Switzerland -- Jürg Rötheli, CEO of Swisscom Participations and member of the Swisscom Group Executive Board since 2001, has decided to leave Swisscom at the end of August 2009 after ten successful years with the company. He will be succeeded by Dieter Bernauer, currently Head of Business Steering at Swisscom Switzerland. Mario Rossi, who is moving back to Swisscom fr! om Fastweb, will become the new Head of Business Steering, while his position as Chief Financial Officer of Fastweb will be filled by Peter Burmeister from 1 July 2009.

Jürg Rötheli joined Swisscom as General Counsel in 1999 and has managed Swisscom's participations portfolio as CEO since 2005. In this role he has restructured and strategically realigned many companies and made, integrated and managed various acquisitions both in Switzerland and abroad (for example Antenna Hungària, Accarda). He also carried out a Group-wide space optimisation project and outsourced the company's facility management. After more than ten years at Swisscom, Jürg Rötheli has decided to take up a new challenge outside the company. The Swisscom Board of Directors and Group Executive Board would like to thank Jürg Rötheli for his outstanding commitment to the company and wish him all the best for the future, both personally and professionally.

Dieter Bernauer to become new Head of! Swisscom Participations

Dieter Bernauer will succeed Jürg Rötheli as CEO of Swisscom Participations on 1 September 2009. Dieter Bernauer is currently Head of Business Steering at Swisscom Switzerland. In his role as CFO of Swisscom Mobile, he developed and expanded the finance department of the mobile communications division. As Head of Business Steering at Swisscom Switzerland from mid-2007 onwards, he integrated the organisation, processes, culture and IT architecture of the finance divisions of the three Group companies Fixnet, Mobile and Solutions, and successfully introduced a new financial controlling system. Dieter Bernauer will be taking on a broader corporate role in his new position as CEO of Swisscom Participations. Swisscom Participations will henceforth be integrated in the Group's Finance division as an independent business unit.

Mario Rossi to become new Head of Business Steering at Swisscom Switzerland

Mario Rossi, currently CFO of Fastweb in Italy, will succeed Dieter Bernauer as Head of Business Steering at Swisscom Switzerland on 1 September 2009. Mario Rossi will return to Switzerland with an extensive knowledge of Swisscom. Before working at Fastweb, his previous roles include four years as CFO of Swisscom Fixnet.

Peter Burmeister to become CFO of Fastweb

Peter Burmeister will replace Mario Rossi as CFO of Fastweb. Peter Burmeister is new to Swisscom and will take up his role in Italy on 1 July 2009. He has broad business experience, having worked for various European companies such as Mannesmann Hartmann & Braun, SMS Demag and DPD GeoPost. Peter Burmeister was Managing Director (Amministratore Delegato) of SMS Demag in Milan for six years.
