MILPITAS, Calif., and BRUSSELS -- JDSU today introduced its c-Series Compact Photonic Tools, a new line of test solutions for the development and manufacturing of fiber optic connectors and passive components used in today’s network elements. The c-Series provide an alternative for engineers who require simple, single-function testers and include the cOPM-A1 Optical Power Meter, cFPL-A1 Fabry-Perot Light Source, and cORL-A1 Optical Return Loss Meter. The c-Series is on display this week at ECOC ‘08 in Brussels, September 22-24 (booth 233).

JDSU c-Series testers are general purpose, high-performance, entry-level test solutions for new labs and new engineers entering the industry and small- and medium-sized connector and patch cord manufacturers. C-Series testers include a USB interface that makes them an ideal addition to automated fiber optic manufacturing process tools, with light sources and power meters providing key feedback required for robotic and automated assembly equipment.

“Today’s fiber optic manufacturing market requires easier and less expensive test tools that help bring reliable products to market faster,” said Gegs Jones, JDSU fiber optic production and lab testing business unit manager. “JDSU designed the c-Series as easy-to-use and cost-effective point solutions without sacrificing performance – each tester offers accuracy and proprietary test time-reduction features found in products several times the price.”
