Interesting hearing about NA, but Sharp and NHK demo'd well over a year ago.  What will remain unknown is adoption - with 2020 8 years away there is still plenty of time for influence.

Thanks for sharing Jeff.

8k is also running in other places.  Several labs around the world have it.  There are also running demos of an ultra high def big screen format running (much higher resolution and bit density than IMAX).

Our labs are one of the ones who have it running.   We have had it running for a couple of years now.

They didn't do a side by side comparison , but that would have been a nice touch for the demo, since 1080p still looks pretty darn good.

We're teeing up a slideshow with more info on the demo, but, speaking of distance, they encouraged everybody to get right up on the screen so we could get a sense on how densly those pixels are really packed in there.  Among the shots, you could really see the detail of the people's faces in the crowd when the guys running the 100 meter were getting ready to go into the blocks.

Very cool.  Just wondering if you were given any kind of side-by-side comparison of 8K vs 1080p, and also at what distance from the screen you could see a clear difference.

SO is ultra HD better than actually seeing something in real life?

Will it be a disdappointment tos ee something in real life after ukltra HD?

(PS: I wonder what comes after ultra HD?)
