Guangdong Telecom to purchase Aura's Lancast Intelligent 7500 Chassis and NetBeacon Element and Service Provisioning Management System

NASHUA, N.H. -- Aura Networks, Inc., announced today that Guangdong Telecom Corporation, a division of China Telecom, has agreed to purchase Aura's Lancast’ Intelligent 7500 Chassis and NetBeacon Element and Service Provisioning Management System for business and government use in the Foshan, China district. This represents one of the first deployments of optical Ethernet for broadband access in China.Aura Networks' products will be integrated into Guangdong Telecom's broadband metropolitan area network based on Foundry's BigIron 4000 switches and NetIron applications. Based upon the initial order received, revenues from this agreement are expected to exceed $1 million in March 2001 alone.

"Aura's solutions will enable us to monitor and manage our optical networks cost-effectively, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our customers."
