AT&T Breaks 200-Market 4G LTE Barrier

AT&T Inc. revealed Tuesday that it now launched 4G LTE in more than 200 markets. AT&T launched 17 new markets in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Texas and other states Tuesday. This takes the operator up to 207 towns and cities gone live with 4G LTE. The operator also expanded the network in nine areas around the country. You can see the full range of Tuesday's launches and updates here. AT&T said on its first-quarter earnings call last week that it now expects to complete "nearly 90 percent" of its planned deployment to cover 300 million people with LTE by the end of this year. This is up from an original goal of 250 million people covered. (See AT&T Says LTE Deployment Is Ahead of Schedule.) The operator appears to be launching new markets every week to meet that goal. Dan is to hats what Will.I.Am is to ridiculous eyewear. Fedora, trilby, tam-o-shanter -- all have graced the Jones pate during his career as the go-to purveyor of mobile essentials.

But hey, Dan is so much more than 4G maps and state-of-the-art headgear. Before joining the Light Reading team in 2002 he was an award-winning cult hit on Broadway (with four 'Toni' awards, two 'Emma' gongs and a 'Brian' to his name) with his one-man show, "Dan Sings the Show Tunes."

His perfectly crafted blogs, falling under the "Jonestown" banner, have been compared to the works of Chekhov. But only by Dan.
